As you get further along your pregnancy, it’s normal to find yourself experiencing more and more “inconveniences”. These may include body aches, fatigue, uncontrollable mood swings, and nausea.
That’s why it’s important that you take care of yourself, because a healthy, happy you means a healthy, happy baby.
Here are some ways that can help you feel wonderfully pregnant:
Pregnancy massages. When it comes to working out kinks and aches, nothing beats a great massage. And a baby bump shouldn’t stop you from having this indulgence. In fact, pregnancy massages can help soothe your back, legs, or feet—areas that suffer most because of your added weight. To be safe, get a masseuse who specializes in pregnancy massages, or go to a nearby maternity spa.
Epsom salt baths. An Epsom salt bath can work wonders in relieving pregnancy aches and pains. This is because Epsom salt has anti-inflammatory properties, and its magnesium content can help ease your overburdened joints. An Epsom salt bath is also very relaxing and can help remove toxins from your body, so when you think about it, it’s not really indulgence—it’s almost essential pre-natal care.
New shoes. Need we say more? As you deal with both the added weight and swollen feet, it is important for you to find more comfortable footwear. Remember, your feet are not used to carrying the extra pregnancy weight around, so go ahead and splurge on a pair or two of the cushiest shoes you can find.
Body pillows. As your belly swells, you may discover that a comfortable sleeping position is actually one of the hardest things to find. Tossing and turning throughout the night simply isn’t an option (and you’ll have more of that when the little one is born) so it’s important for you to get comfortable and get some much-needed rest. Enter the body pillows. Use as many as you need to support your back, belly, or legs. Mold them around your pregnancy curves and curl up for a restful night’s sleep.
Babymoons. Once your baby is born, going on a family vacation will be a logistical nightmare, because you’ll have to pack for every baby-related eventuality. Now is the best opportunity for that one last trip with your significant other and for reminiscing how your wonderful journey started…with two people in love.
As you near D-Day, it becomes even more important that you are in good health, so get in the best shape possible. That includes being in a relaxed state of mind and body, which means pampering yourself is a definite must-do for you.
